Jeremy Carver-James (Chip Tolentino)
Jeremy Carver-James is an up and coming singer/actor known for his unique versatility of genres. Ranging from musical theater, jazz, opera, pop/r&b, and gospel he has been noted for his musical and theatrical interpretations. He recently completed his Bachelor of Music at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music and has performed in a variety of staged performances including leading roles in [Title of Show] (Jeff), The Drowsy Chaperone (Robert Martin), Le Nozze di Figaro (Figaro), and Hair (Berger), along with additional roles in productions of Albert Herring (the Vicar), La Rondine (Périchaud), Gianni Schicchi (Il Notaio), and Les Contes Hoffmann (Luther).
Cassandra Togneri (Marcy Park)
Cassandra is so delighted to be a Processed Theatre Speller! Previous roles include Arabella in Asleep at the Wheel, Candy in The Famous Remains of Piggy Palace, Little Girl in The Way, Angel in Vacancy, Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank, Helen in The Miracle Worker, Young Cosette in Les Misérables. She also is proud of her short film Premiere, a winner at the 24hr Film Festival that also showed at the Floating Film Festival. Cassandra is a graduate of York University’s Creative Ensemble program and is new to the Montreal stage.
Dane Stewart (William Barfee)
Dane Stewart is beginning his third year at McGill University where he's studying Music and English. Hailing from small town Nova Scotia, Dane is excited to be joining Processed Theatre's production of Spelling Bee. Dane can't speak six languages however he can make ice cream and play the triangle. Past credits include Man 2 in EDGES: A Song Cycle, Molina in Kiss of the Spiderwoman. He hopes you enjoy the show and remember to keep on killing vampires!
Katy Breier (Logainne Schwartzandgrubenniere)
Katy was born and raised in Montreal. Her love of acting comes from the vast library of film classics that her father introduced her to. At 13 she joined a musical theatre group, and so began her love of the stage. Katy graduated from the theatre program at Dawson where she played such roles as Ophelia. She is active in film, television and theatre, and recently appeared as "Cara" in the series, Being Human.
Lindsay Milner (Rona Lisa Perretti)
Lindsay is passionate about theatre. Favorite past roles include Sandy in Grease, Josephine in HMS Pinafore, Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, and Jane Hopcroft in Absurd Person Singular. She created and performed in SCREW: The Sexual Curriculum Remedial Education Workshop as part of the 2009 Montreal Fringe Festival. She is thrilled to be working with such a talented cast and crew, and she thanks her husband for his love and support.
Michael Mercer (Leaf Coneybear)
Michael Mercer is a New Brunswick native currently pursuing his BFA in Theatre at Concordia University. Before moving to Montreal, he was heavily involved in the Saint John theatre scene, performing in shows including Children of Eden, West Side Story, and Oklahoma! When not acting, Michael works with Concordia Residence as a Resident Assistant, helping first year students adjust to university living. He’d like to thank to his family and friends for their constant support- Life is Pandemonium!!!!
Mike Melino (Mitch Mahoney)
Mike began singing with the Our Lady of Pompei Youth Choir of which, ten years later, he would become the director at 17. Since graduating from Vanier he has had opportunity to perform at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and the musical revues Québec: Je Me Souviens, L’air du Rock & Roll, and Grease, and has been a recurring performer for Montreal’s Italian Week and is the lead singer of Blok Note Big Band. Favorite roles include Quincey Morris in Dracula, Adolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone, and Leon in Who Is Aristippus? at the Fringe Festival in June 2011.
Shannon Hamilton (Olive Ostrovsky)
Shannon is a recent graduate of Concordia's theatre program and is so very happy to be a part of Spelling Bee. Past productions include Darwin, Endless Forms most beautiful, Dr. Faustus Lights the Lights, Metamorphosis and A Christmas Carol. Outside of school Shannon has worked with The Beggars Bag, The MAP project and Geordie Theatre Company. Taking a break from 20 something years of school she is excited to brush up on her spelling which is A.B.I.Z.M.A.L.L.
William Ward (Doug Panch)
William Ward began acting in 1997. Some recent theatre credits include the plays La Bella Luna and Death and the Maiden. Last year he co-directed The Pirates of Penzance at Mcgill. As a filmmaker he has written and directed several comedy shorts that have appeared in various shows and festivals. William has also written and performed in the award-winning sketch comedy shows THUNDERSPANK and Blastback Babyzap at the Montreal and Toronto Fringe and Just For Laughs festivals. His show Rains Down in Africa won the Next Stage Award at the 2011 Montreal Fringe Festival.
